Welcome to the website of the Postgraduate Program in Business Administration – Total Quality International (MBA TQM International) of the Department of Business Administration and Management of the University of Piraeus.
In the modern, complex, internationalized and dynamically changing economic and business environment, companies and organizations face complex challenges of competition, cost, organization, reorganization and timely integration of the prospects offered by technological developments in their business practice. The ultimate goal is to expand their turnover through innovation, increasing the quality of their products and services, as well as highlighting their overall customer focus.
The structure and content of the curriculum of the Postgraduate Program in Business Administration – Total Quality International is comparable to that of the leading universities abroad, supported by features such as the introduction of innovative methods and procedures of learning, the strengthening of interdisciplinarity, the extroverted orientation with our integration into national and international cooperation and mobility networks.
Since its founding (1994), it is a member of EFQM (EUROPEAN FOUNDATION FOR QUALITY MANAGEMENT), which is the creator of the Business Excellence Model (EFQM Excellence Model).
The characteristics of this innovative and unique in Greece Postgraduate Program, set the basis for preparing active or future executives of companies and organizations to successfully face the aforementioned challenges, having a dual character and it is full-time or part-time.
The professors of our Postgraduate Program have a decisive contribution in ensuring the quality of studies. Their rich research and writing work is internationally recognized and combines theoretical training with practical knowledge since many of them have worked – collaborated with large public and private sector organizations.

Brief Presentation of the Master`s Program
The master’s Program in Business Administration – Total Quality Management with an International Orientation (MBA TQM International) completes the Academic Year 2022-2023, 29 years of operation, being not only one of the first two established Master’s Programs at the University of Piraeus, but also one of the first Master’s Programs in Greece, regardless of University discipline.
Since its foundation (1994), it has been a member of EFQM (EUROPEAN FOUNDATION FOR QUALITY MANAGEMENT) and maintains a subscription to ASQ (American Society for Quality), receiving among the first worldwide new standards and frameworks of Total Quality Management, which are immediately integrated into the teaching of PMS courses.
Communication channels are as well maintained with the ISO (International Standards Organization), and the approximately 20 new editions of international standards per year (both in terms of quality and business management) are also integrated into the master’s curriculum, constantly updating the knowledge that our students receive, maintaining, in this way, the international competitiveness of the PMS at a top level.
The Program started in the Academic Year 1994-95, in the context of a pioneering Network of 11 European Universities, as a European Master in Total Quality (one of the first in the World). Since then, it has evolved into the current program, “Business Administration – Total Quality with an International Orientation” (MBA TQM International).
The Master’s Program is a full MBA, specializing in Total Quality Management.
Total Quality is a modern Management Philosophy and an Integrated Management approach.
Primary purpose of the TQM Program is to be inextricably linked with the Customer Satisfaction and respond to their Expectations, as well as of all other stakeholders, who are involved to the achievement of long-term goals or the results of the operation of Businesses, Organizations or Institutions (Profit or Non-Profit), such as shareholders, employees, suppliers, citizens or members of society.
The implementation of Total Quality is achieved, inter alia, through:
- The mobilization and universal participation of Human and Material Resources.
- The primary emphasis on Defining – Designing, Redesigning, Measuring, Analyzing, Improving and Controlling Business and Administrative Processes.
- The use of Best Practices, Methods, and Techniques, such as Statistical Quality Control, Six Sigma, Lean Production, SERVQUAL, etc., many of which were developed by pioneering Companies in the USA, Europe, and Japan.
- The Adoption of Business Excellence Models, such as the EFQM model, the Malcolm Baldrige model, etc.
- As a rule, the Foundation, Documentation and Evaluation, based on the Collection and Processing of Quantitative and Qualitative Data, Business Analytics and Metrics (Business Analytics and Business Metrics) and Knowledge Management Systems.
Finally, Total Quality adopts, extends and creates synergies with the best established approaches and practices of Business Administration and Management.
The program is addressed to graduates of all scientific fields, as it can be seen in the profile of our students – graduates. 
The postgraduate program offers the possibility of “transition” from the subject of the first degree, to the subjects of business administration and quality management or to a combination of management-quality management, in companies with a field of application relevant to the first degree of our postgraduate students.
The duration of the full-time program is three (3) semesters and of the part-time program is five (5) semesters (for our working students).
The courses taught are grouped into Business Administration (MBA) courses and Total Quality Management (TQM) courses on our Program website.
As part of the program, multi-day information activities for our students are carried out by company executives, such as the Quality Days , as well as educational trips – visits to companies, in Greece and abroad.

Graduates of the Program have very successful careers in all types of companies (of all sectors), in the largest Greek Companies and in leading international companies (Amazon, IBM, Unilever South East Europe, PwC London, Burton Biscuits, Unicore Fuel BV, etc.), as business executives with a subject related to the MBA part of their studies (Financial Managers, HR Managers, etc.), as well as with a subject related to the specialization in Total Quality Management (Quality Management Department Managers, executives of Certification Bodies, etc.).

Structure & Duration
The duration for the full-time study program is three (3) semesters, and for the part-time study program is five (5) semesters.
The duration of each lesson is 6 months.
Tuition Fees
For their participation in the PMS, postgraduate students who do not fall under article 35 of Law 4485/17 pay tuition fees amounting to €7,800, for all studies in the Master’s Program.
Full-time students pay a tuition fee of €2,600 per semester.
Part-time students pay a tuition fee of €1,300 per semester for the first four (4) semesters and €2,600 for the last (5th) semester.
The tuition fee is paid at the beginning of each semester.

Target Audience
The postgraduate program is open to holders of a first cycle degree from a higher education in Greece (A.E.I.-T.E.I.) or similar institutions abroad, in accordance with the provisions of article 34 of Law 4485/2017. 4485/2017.
The program is aimed at graduates:
- Of all scientific fields, as can be seen in the profile of our students – graduates.
- Which aim to combine theory and practical application of management and quality management.
- Who want to pursue postgraduate studies in business administration, and/or quality management.
- Who want to make the scientific ‘transition’ from the academic subject of their first degree, to the academic subjects of business administration and quality management, or to the combination of administration – quality management in companies with a scope related to their first degree.
- With vision and high goals, with down-to-earth, simple, logical, and applied thinking, who want to learn how to innovate, redesign and manage complex and multifaceted business everyday life.
Diploma
The Master’s program awards a Master’s Degree in Business Administration – Total Quality International (Master in Business Administration – Total Quality International).
